Unfair or Deceptive Insurance Practices
At Maloney and Maloney, we know insurance law.
We represent insured individuals who have suffered a loss and been treated unfairly by an insurance company. In some cases, an insurance company has wrongfully denied a claim and in others, a claim resulted in an unfair settlement. Claims for unfair or deceptive insurance practices can occur at any level of insurance coverage:
- Health Insurance
- Auto Insurance
- Life Insurance
- Worker’s Compensation Insurance
- Fire and Casualty Insurance
- Homeowners Insurance
- General Liability Insurance
- Professional Liability Insurance
- Errors and Omissions Insurance
If an insurance company violates the provisions of the insurance code that applies to it, the agent or company can be sanctioned with fines or even have their license to sell insurance revoked. If an agent intentionally misrepresented the price of an insurance policy, for example, the consumer would have a legal remedy against the agent and the insurance company.
Often, if an insurer has acted illegally with regard to one consumer, there will be many other consumers similarly situated who might also have a similar claim against and agent or insurer. In that case, a class action might be an appropriate vehicle to pursue the claim.
Please contact us at 1-800-272-1025 to discuss your potential insurance fraud claim and whether or not you may be a class member for purposes of class action litigation.
